Deus Ex art show coming to New York City (Deus Ex: Human Revolution)

If games aren?t art, can someone please explain why so many artists are involved with games these days? Publisher Square Enix has announced plans unveil a series of original works at the Wooster Street Social Club in New York City on July 28 to bring the world of Deus Ex: Human Revolution to life. According to Square Enix, artists have been asked to ?explore the game?s key storyline: the state of humanity, which in the Deus Ex: Human Revolution world is currently at its turning point due to cybernetic augmentation.?

The exhibit will run for two weeks, and if you can make it to the event, you can count on seeing lots of unique art based on the show?s eclectic mix of artists. ?With support from Square Enix, Juxtapoz and the art community, we?ve selected a group of artists from all disciplines who will explore both pro and anti-augmentation in their works, based on the captivating storyline from the game,? said Estevan Oriol of SA Studios Global in a press release.

The Deus Ex art show will feature work from the street art, graffiti, photography, illustration, and design scene. 3rassiere will be there; it?s a multimedia group featuring the editor of News Media/Technology and designer at San Francisco?s Upper Playground, the place where cool kids go for hoodies, hats, and ultra urban art. Artists Estevan Oriol, Eyeone, Jeremy Fish, Jorge Alderete, N8 Van Dyke, Rico Denior, Robeyta, Jr., and Sam Flores will also have work on display.

?With support from Square Enix, Juxtapoz and the art community, we?ve selected a group of artists from all disciplines who will explore both pro and anti-augmentation in their works, based on the captivating storyline from the game,? said Estevan Oriol of SA Studios Global in a press release.

Artists will be asked to contribute a pro- or anti-augmentation poster image for the event ? and we look forward to seeing street art scene?s take on the upcoming Deus Ex title, scheduled for release on August 23 and 26 in North America and Europe respectively.
