Sonic Generations 3DS Spot Pass features detailed

Sonic Generations for the 3DS will encourage players to be social and shuffle around town, according to new gameplay information from Sega. This week, the studio detailed the 3DS Spot Pass features for the upcoming title, which include the ability to trade profile cards, share new levels, and walk your way to unlockable adventures.

Much like a business card for Sonic professionals, each profile card will include game stats, customizable messages, and basic player info that can be traded and updated through 3DS Spot Pass exchanges. Spot Pass swaps will also allow players to share up to 100 mini-missions depending on which the other 3DS owner has already completed. While not entirely new, these bonus level will provide the opportunity to replay previous levels with new objectives such as in 'Revenge', a mission resembling a hedgehog horde mode; and Special Trial, in which players must contend with a gopher infestation in Act 1 of Mushroom Hill.

If spinning solo is more your thing, these extra missions can also be purchased with Game Coins, which are earned by walking around with the 3DS (or just shaking it gently for a couple of hours).

Sonic Generations is out for the 3DS on November 1. Browse our gallery below to see how all this swapping, walking, and profiling will look.
