Silent Hill HD Collection, Book of Memories and Downpour all come out early 2012

Silent Hill: Downpour, the next console game in the iconic survival horror franchise, was scheduled for last month but then got silently delayed by Konami. Before we only heard it was coming out early 2012, but now we have a more specific release window, as well as release dates for the Silent Hill HD Collection and Silent Hill: Book of Memories. The first three months of 2012 will be overflowing with Silent Hill?s specific brand of horror.

January 24 marks the release of the Silent Hill HD Collection for 360 and PS3. Repackaging last gen games with HD upgrades is all the rage these days, and this specific pack includes PS2 classics Silent Hill 2 and 3. And thanks to behind the scenes drama, the HD visuals also come with new voice actor recordings too.

February is a big month already, including the launch of Sony?s new handheld the PS Vita. Though not confirmed specifically for the launch, Vita title Silent Hill: Book of Memories will be coming out that month as well. With multiplayer and co-op or the first time in series history, this Silent Hill at least sounds like a unique entry in the series.

The winter full of Silent Hill concludes with Silent Hill: Downpour, which is now planned for release in March. You play as convict Murphy Pendleton, as the inmate travels around the foggy city and meets the many psychotic characters the town has to offer.

Does this strike you as an insane deluge Silent Hill content or an overdue return for an absent series? And just how many of these will you be buying during that three month period?
