Namco Bandai's upcoming third-person physics-bending shooter has been burying itself and re-emerging since 2009. In February, we finally got a hands-on preview of the game, and saw a few of its gravity manipulation tricks. Now it has surfaced again with a new live-action trailer. Does the trailer reveal anything more about the game? Not really, except that it was influenced by Cloverfield and, as expected, makes use of the word 'inversion.'

Oberon Media, the parent company of I-play, is closing its in-house game development studio to focus instead on game publishing and distribution. Plans for specific titles and franchises, such as I-play originals Women's Murder Club, Dream Day, and Agatha Christie, have not yet been announced.
The company said in a prepared statement that it will continue to work with third-party developers to create games that will be published under the I-play brand. The company also plans to grow its game catalog beyond I-play titles to be the "largest and most inclusive in the industry."
"We will be reaching out to a wider range of developers, going beyond the types of content we have served in the past," said Oberon Media's President and COO Bob Hayes. "We are interested in bringing games anywhere users want to play and have some exciting plans in the works to make that happen."
Hayes added that offering game exclusives will not be a core part of the company's strategy at the moment. "But," he added, "we would of course take advantage of any opportunity that arises and makes sense to us and our partners."

Coinciding with the announcement was word from the official PlayStation help and support Twitter account claiming, "PSN currently undergoing sporadic maintenance. Access to the PSN may be interrupted throughout the day. We apologize for any inconvenience." Whether or not that happens to be a coincidence, PlayStation.com and other sites under its domain name (including the PlayStation Blog) are currently unreachable. Sony.com, on the other hand, is fine.
After declaring that the attack is a result of Sony's litigation involving GeoHot, Anonymous' statement declares, "You have abused the judicial system in an attempt to censor information about how your products work. You have victimized your own customers merely for possessing and sharing information, and continue to target those who seek this information. In doing so you have violated the privacy of thousands of innocent people who only sought the free distribution of information. Your suppression of this information is motivated by corporate greed and the desire for complete control over the actions of individuals who purchase and use your products, at least when those actions threaten to undermine the corrupt stranglehold you seek to maintain over copywrong, oops, 'copyright.'
"Your corrupt business practices are indicative of a corporate philosophy that would deny consumers the right to use products they have paid for, and rightfully own, in the manner of their choosing. Perhaps you should alert your customers to the fact that they are apparently only renting your products? In light of this assault on both rights and free expression, Anonymous, the notoriously handsome rulers of the internet, would like to inform you that you have only been 'renting' your web domains. Having trodden upon Anonymous' rights, you must now be trodden on."
Sony is in the processing of suing George "GeoHot" Hotz, a 21-year-old hacker who uncovered (and subsequently shared online) the PlayStation 3's root key. The case has yet to go to trial, with Sony doing all it can to have the case tried in California despite Hotz residing in New Jersey. Sony has alleged that Hotz fled to South America in order to avoid the courts and had sabotaged hard drives, claims that he has denied.
Anonymous has previously targeted the likes of anti-WikiLeaks organizations, anti-piracy groups, and more. This latest campaign against Sony appears to be a spin-off of Operation Payback, which was a retaliation against distributed denial of service attacks that were made on torrent websites. The FBI has been actively investigating the group since the United States Copyright Office was taken down last year, if not earlier.
We've contacted Sony for comment on the situation and will report back if the company decides to make any announcements.

What happens when Pirates of the Caribbean meets LEGO? Well, besides LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game.�You get swashbuckling blocks and a lot of attention to detail. But what does the search for a plastic Black Pearl look like? Apparently, not like plain old plastic bricks. But don't take my word for it. Check out what Nikole Zivalich had to say when she checked the game out at GDC.�
"At first glance, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean looks like a LEGO game; it's colorful, it's bouncy, and everything is made of LEGOS. But after my glance turned into a stare, I noticed the jungle I was in had textures, leaves, vines, none of which were made of LEGOS. What surprised me wasn't simply the detailed landscape, it was how detailed it was. Another level I was shown took place on a pirate ship, but rather than being on a shiny, plastic Black Pearl, I was on a rotted wood, lines in the planks, realistic looking pirate ship."

Concussions are one of the most dangerous injuries a football player can sustain, and EA is seeking to drive this message home by tweaking its Madden NFL series to treat concussed players in a dramatic new way.
In Madden 2012, players who receive a concussion during a match will be sidelined for the remainder of the game with zero hopes of returning to the field. In addition, the in-game announcers - Gus Johnson and Chris Collinsworth - will comment on the injury, making special mention of its symptoms and serious implications.
"Concussions are such a big thing, it has to be a big thing in the video game," said John Madden in an interview with the New York Times. "It starts young. Kids ? they start in video games. I think the osmosis is if you get a concussion, that?s a serious thing and you shouldn?t play. Or leading with the head that you want to eliminate. We want that message to be strong."
Madden said EA's decision to alter its treatment of concussions was born of the publisher's desire to inject more realism to the franchise and to educate players on the real-life (and sometimes fatal) dangers associated with head injuries. As expected, the changes are being well received by both the NFL and the sports industry in whole.
"It?s a great approach to teach kids in a way that no one else can reach," said Chris Nowinski, a former Harvard footballer and the co-director of the Sports Legacy Institute, adding, "Considering how hard it is to reach young kids and expose them early, this is brilliant. You?re training kids from the cradle to play sports more safely. If you get a concussion, come out of the game. You can?t unteach that."
Sports injuries are rarely treated with the gravitas they deserve in games, so good on EA for taking the lead. That being said, we wouldn't be too taken aback to see an option for players to miraculously heal themselves for a small micro-payment to EA Online...
