The behind-the-scenes videos on the creation process behind id Software's upcoming "Rage" are still ? er, raging on. Today, the team gives us our sixth installment in the series, this time taking a look at the art and sound design of what looks like a promising new property. There's some developer commentary on the designer's thought process, but perhaps more appealing, there's video of none other than John "Walter Sobchak" Goodman recording his lines for the game.
Check out the video right after the jump.
With few exceptions, John Goodman is absolutely one of my favorite actors. I will pretty much stay glued to almost anything that man is involved in, thanks to his commanding presence in both his on-screen charisma and immediately recognizable voice. Somehow, I was completely unaware that Goodman was involved in "Rage" up until this point, but I'm really excited to see what he does with the character. Previously, if wanted to play as Goodman in a video game, I had to play "Cars Race-O-Rama," so ? yeah I think I'll stick with "Rage."
While the aural experience is definitely heightened with great voice talent, what's been shown of "Rage" from a visual standpoint looks gorgeous, as well. While the post-apocalyptic setting is about as original an idea as exploding barrels, the game does look really sharp. The level of detail in the toppled buildings and scrap-strewn path shown in the video is really impressive.
"Rage" releases for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 4.
