Word of a possible new Alien game leaked earlier on Government Minister for Communication, Culture, and the Creative Industries Ed Vaizey's twitter account, and now Sega has confirmed that developer Creative Assembly is indeed working on the yet-unnamed title.
Few details are known, save that the game will be coming to consoles, with no release date or specific platforms announced -- even the genre remains a mystery. A report by CVG quotes Sega West's Mike Hayes saying, "This is very much a triple-A project." Furthermore, "We want this to be a peer to the likes of Dead Space 2."
The Creative Assembly is a UK based studio best known for its work on the strategy series Total War. According to Gamesindustry.biz, in order to ramp up for work on the Alien title, the studio's plans for this year include opening a new 10,000 sq ft studio in West Sussex and growing staff numbers to around 200, nearly doubling its current size.
