Catherine difficulty patch announced less than a week after its release (Catherine)

Catherine is hard. Really hard. We've been banging our heads against the early levels since the game's release in Japan last week. Apparently we're not the only ones. Publisher Atlus has announced an upcoming patch that it hopes will address numerous complaints from players concerning the game's difficulty.

Writing on the game'sofficial blog, director Katsura Hashino said, ?We balanced the game so that the player feels thrilled with a sense of achievement when they clear the level. But it's also possible the staff is just too good at the game at this point.?

In the meantime, we?llbe working our way through Catherine in its current (ultra hard) state. Expect a more in-depth preview ofAtlus'nightmarish RPGwith hands-on impressions soon.
